Church Membership

In our "Discovering FBC Membership Class" we communicate five different topics that are of fundamental importance.

1. We teach what SALVATION is and what its significance is in relationship to our lives.
2. We teach that there are SYMBOLS of the Christian faith that help us remember our salvation and who we are in Christ. These symbols are baptism and the Lord's Supper.
3. We teach our STRATEGY and the significance of living out the purposes of God in our individual lives, our small groups, our church, our community and world.
4. We teach our STATEMENTS of faith and practice. It addresses what we believe and how we are expected to behave.
5. We teach the STRUCTURE of our church. We explain how a member can have a ministry and serve the church.

Upon completion of the class a covenant is signed to formalize the membership commitment which includes:

• I will regularly attend FBC;
• I will be trained for ministry;
• I will not gossip;
• I will tithe regularly; and
• I will invite the un-churched to FBC.

This class is the first step in our discipleship process.
