Cleaning Crew

Ministry Description

FBC's CLEANING CREW exists to enhance our church family's worship experience by making sure God's house is clean and neat for Sunday services.

Interests & Skills:
General cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, emptying trash, refilling chair pockets with offering envelopes and other miscellaneous tasks.

Spiritual Gifts:
A Servant's heart and the satisfaction of a clean home, church etc.

Opportunities to Serve

Currently meet at 9:30 on Friday mornings for about 2 hours. Days and times may be negotiable.

NEW OPPORTUNITY: Sunday Facility Checker: One who checks the restrooms during or just following any one service to be sure they are stocked with paper towels and tissue. Also to pick up any trash on the floor, etc. to keep the facilities clean and neat.

Commmunity Center

Ministry Description

FBC's COMMUNITY CENTER exists to welcome both our church family and visitors on Sunday mornings. We do this by providing refreshments [through our Hospitality Team] and information about what we believe, church activities and ways to get connected. Our information table provides current events and opportunities and our Welcome 1st Time Visitors provides an information packet as well as a gift.

A welcoming demeanor, a love of assisting people

Sundays: At the Church Family Information table or 1st time guests' table.

He Cares

Ministry Description

FBC's HE CARES Ministry becomes the physical extension of God's love for others by sending encouraging cards and notes, by phone calls or a simply hug, and by praying with or for others. These touches of God's love can be done on an individual basis or can be done in a team format.

Interest in people, kindness, good listener, compassion.

Spiritual Gifts:
Any of the following: Encouragement, Love for others.

Opportunities to Serve

Sending encouraging cards to our church family.
Making encouraging and caring calls to our church family.

Health Ministry

Ministry Description

FBC's HEALTH Ministry seeks to glorify God and extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by providing health awareness to our congregation and our surrounding community by promoting the wholeness of body, mind, and spirit. We currently provide a Blood Pressure Clinic on the 4th Sunday of each month, after each service. We have also had a flu shot clinic, and offered CPR classes at various times.

Interests & Skills:
Medical or wellness training in a variety of areas, or simply an interest in helping others get or stay healthy.

Any of the following: Servant's heart

Opportunities exist for those with experience taking blood pressures, or those who understand confidentiality requirements, who are willing to greet and sign in people asking for our service.

Hospitality Team

Ministry Description

FBC's HOSPITALITY Ministry exists to unite the church body in fellowship and to encourage friendly relationship with all persons. We do this by assisting with the decoration and food preparation, serving, and clean-up at events as requested. These include our Sunday morning refreshments, the Thanks-giving baskets that we deliver to our families in need or crisis, and other events as they arise.

Interests & Skills:
Willingness to serve for the benefit of others by demonstrating friendship, love, kindness, encouragement, and faith to our church family.

Inside - Outside Greeters

Ministry Description

FBC's OUTSIDE GREETERS extend a warm welcome to individuals as they come on our campus. We want to make people feel accepted within our family.

Our INSIDE GREETERS extend a warm welcome to individuals as they wait in the auditorium for the service to begin. Again, we want to make people feel accepted at this time by engaging them in brief conversations as they wait.

Interest in people, able to make people feel accepted.

Library

Ministry Description

FBC's LIBRARY Ministry exists to help both seekers and growing Christians in our church family have a place to borrow books that will encourage them in the search and draw them closer to God. We assist people looking for books or videos on specific topics or looking for reference books such as biblical encyclopedias or a concordance. We also have Christian fiction books to check out. The Library is open immediately following each Sunday service.

Interests & Skills:
A love of reading, people skills, administrative skills [keeping the records straight].

Opportunities to Serve

Arrange to work with one of our Librarians one Sunday following either service. Times would be Sunday, either 10:30 a.m. -10:50 a.m. or 12:05 p.m. to 12:20 p.m.

Office Volunteers

Ministry Description

FBC's OFFICE VOLUNTEER TEAM assists the office staff with clerical skills such as running copies, collating documents, assembling packets as needed and phone coverage during staff meetings.

Have a welcoming demeanor, people person, enjoy completing tasks to keep the office running smoothly. Teachable, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.

Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday one or two hours between 9:30 and 5:00
or Friday 1 or 2 hours between 9:30 and 2:00. Call to set a time so that we have things ready.

Set-Up & Tear Down Team

Ministry Description

FBC's SET UP & TEAR DOWN assists our ministries by setting up tables and canopies as well as video/audio equipment as needed for the Community Center every Sunday as well as setting up rooms for the Core Classes, L.E.A.D. Meetings and other special events. When the services, classes, or events are over, we take down the canopies, tables etc. and put things back where they belong.

Interests & Skills:
Interest in helping set up or tear down to enable ministries to function at their best. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Outgoing personality - team player. Energetic and reliable.

Trash to Treasure

Ministry Description

FBC's TRASH TO TREASURE Ministry collects plastic bottles and aluminum cans to recycle and then uses the money to purchase groceries for needy individuals and families. We take time to talk with them and pray with them about their situation, if they are willing. Most of the people we serve are low income and many have multiple children. The food is picked up at the ministry leader's home and delivered to those in need.

Delivery times are Monday - Saturday between 9a.m. and 6p.m.
Deliveries are done in pairs and takes about 1-2 hours.
Areas of delivery vary but are limited to Upland, Fontana, & Rancho Cucamonga.

Heart for the less fortunate

Video & Sound Ministry

Ministry Description

FBC's VIDEO & SOUND Ministry exists to serve the church family by setting up and operating the Sound, Multimedia, Camera and Lighting systems to enhance the various services. This includes set up and sound checks before services, mixing sound during services and recording teaching messages and music. We also operate this equipment at special events as requested.

Part-time and rotating participation is optional.

Interests & Skills:
Computer skills helpful; technically oriented, dependability and practical experience is helpful.
